Law Firm YK and The Korea Herald signed a memorandum of understanding Friday to jointly launch a private breakfast briefing program designed to help corporate leaders navigate changes in government policy and regulations.
Under the agreement, the two sides will jointly operate the program for CEOs and senior executives, providing analysis of major government policies and regulatory developments and examining how businesses can respond to their potential impact.
The program, named “Policy Inside,” will go beyond delivering policy updates by linking policy interpretation with legal analysis and corporate strategy.
The MOU signing ceremony held at Herald Square in central Seoul was attended by Herald Media Group CEO Choi Jin-young, Senior Vice President Kim Hyung-kon, Marketing Director Chung Hee-je and Managing Editor Lee Joo-hee of The Korea Herald.
Law Firm YK was represented by Managing Partner Kang Kyung-hoon, Partner Attorney Kim Taic-hyung and Chief Platform Officer Lee Sang-yeob.
In South Korea, private breakfast gatherings have increasingly become spaces for corporate leaders to hear directly from policymakers, legal experts and other specialists about policy and regulatory developments affecting their businesses.
Choi said the partnership would help The Korea Herald expand its role as a platform connecting people and expertise, highlighting the newspaper's international reach.
“The most important thing is people. This platform is about bringing people together, and I hope we can build it together,” Choi said.
Kang said YK has sought to improve communication between professionals and their clients as part of its broader efforts to make professional services more accessible.
“Many clients ask us why professionals are always so busy and why it is so difficult to communicate with them,” Kang said. “Addressing the anxiety caused by that lack of communication is one of the most important parts of YK's growth strategy.”
The two organizations said they plan to use the agreement as a starting point to establish Policy Inside as a regular executive briefing platform and expand their cooperation into other areas.
